As a seller, you do not have to pay anything until your practice sells. During the process you will negotiate a sales commission that will be paid at the time of sale. The commission fee will be based upon the type of sale that you want to effectuate, and whether or not the sales price will be paid upfront or over series of years.
The attorneys and law students who are looking to actively purchase a law practice pay a fee directly to Lawyers Incorporated to actively help them find a practice that meets the parameters of the type of practice they want, in the town where they want it. Often times this involves the purchaser giving the team at Lawyers Incorporated a geographic area, as well as a time frame and price point of the practice that they want to purchase. The purchaser has the ability to utilize the individuals who have already listed their property, confidentially, with Lawyers Incorporated or have the attorneys at Lawyers Incorporated make private inquiries to existing law practices to see if they have an interest to sell. You or someone you know may have already been contacted about selling!
